Romans 1:15-16 NIV 2011
That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
The Lord called Paul on the Damascus Road to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. Romans 1:6, “And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.” In the capitol city of the Roman Empire, Paul did not cower in sharing the Good News. His message was from the Lord with divine power. 1 Corinthians 1:18, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” The Gospel message has divine power to save sinners.
I memorized Romans 1:16 driving on 132nd as our youngest daughter repeated it ten times on the way to Wednesday night Awana at our church. Cruising through social media this morning, a young man posted, “I believe in God. And I’m not ashamed.” And that’s how I chose this Scripture. If he was not ashamed to post it, I need to daily remember to share it with those who don’t know Jesus. The Gospel message has divine power to save sinners.
Where will we share the Good News that Jesus saves?
Saved sinners for Christ,
