Judges 13:24-25 NIV 2011
The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the Lord blessed him, and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
God chose Manoah from the clan of Danites and his wife who was childless to give birth to a son. The Hebrew name Samson means “sun” or “brightness.” He was the light of joy for his parents needed during Israel’s dark time in history. God delivered His people over and over again through “leaders known as judges.” Because of Israel’s sinful choices, Samson became the leader God sent to lead His people away from oppression. God called Israel to consistently choose Him as Lord of their lives. Samson, though imperfect, led God’s people for twenty years during the oppression. God chooses imperfect common people to complete His uncommon perfect plan.
The day we are born again, each of us made the choice to follow the path God puts before us. There have been a few detours during my journey but He has used each one for His glory. Sometimes it feels like I am at a crossroads, unsure which path is mine. Romans 8:38-39, my take, I am convinced that nothing will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Daily He chooses me to complete His perfect plan.
What is His perfect plan for you?
