Genesis 21:1-2 NIV 2011
Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.
God walked with Abraham as he followed God and left his home in Ur to the land He would show him. God changed Abram’s name to Abraham at ninety-nine. He told him he would be the father of many nations. Sarah didn’t believe she would have children at her advanced age. Genesis 18:11, “Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.” God had different plans. Genesis 18:14b, “I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” God’s Word reveals He is trustworthy, faithful and a promise keeper.
God led the Israelites into the Promise Land and instructed them to possess the land. The book of Joshua reveals He’s trustworthy. Joshua 1:9b, “For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” God was faithful to Joshua and He is today. After saying, “yes” four and a half years ago to share His Word daily, He has faithfully been beside me every day. God has kept His promise. Hebrews 13:5, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” God is trustworthy, faithful and a promise keeper.
How is God’s faithfulness revealed?
Faithfully trusting His promises,
