Luke 24:46-47 NIV 2011
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.
Luke’s account of Jesus’ post resurrection ministry is found in 24:13-49. Jesus appeared three times: 24:13-32 to two traveling to Emmaus, 34 to Peter and 36-43 to the ten disciples in the upper room. Jesus spoke with His disciples in verses 46-47. Isaiah 53:10 and 11, “Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer…After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied.” Jesus came to suffer and rise again for the sins of God’s people. There is a mandatory reaction from those who follow Jesus. Believing in Christ, confessing and repentance of a believer’s sins secures forgiveness.
And just like that, the weather here changes from 70 degrees in the early morning to below 40 this morning. When you think the weather will slowly change, it changes instantly. What does this have to do with the Scripture? That’s what can happen in the life of anyone that comes to know Christ. That choice instantly changes the lives of those who choose to follow Christ. He takes control of every part of your daily life. Remaining in Him, confessing and repenting of my sins, I am forgiven.
How is He calling you today?
