Luke 8:38-39 NIV 2011

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

After Jesus restored a demon-possessed man, he sent him away. The man wanted to immediately follow Him. Unlike the many Jesus healed and exhorted to be silent, He challenged him to tell others of the miracle. Mark 3:12, “But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.” The man was healed in Gentile territory and Jesus’ Messianic identity would not be known. Sharing all Jesus did for him would shine the Light of Jesus Christ to those that knew nothing of the Messiah. Wholehearted love and worship of the Lord produces living faith in the Living God.

Moses challenged the Israelites to love the Lord and keep His commandments. Jesus told His followers to share the Good News. We are called to do the same being followers of Jesus. As friends, parents, grandparents or family we need to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. By living for Jesus, we’re shining His Light for others to follow. I need to live daily in a way that others will be drawn to Him. God focused wholehearted devotion shines my living faith in the Living God.

How are we living our faith today?

Wholeheartedly devoted together,

S
