John 14:5-7 NIV 2011
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
One of Jesus’ disciples was Thomas. He is called doubting Thomas because he refused to believe Jesus rose from the dead. Thomas continually sought the truth as this verse reveals. In John 11:16 he showed his zeal to follow Christ by encouraging the other disciples to follow Jesus after Lazarus’ death. Jesus knew his heart and replied to the question with the Truth. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
I recall a conversation with a friend after BSF who loved the book of Revelation. She shared a daily concern for her unsaved brother. In light of the coming Day of the Lord and not wanting any to parish, she said it was hard to think of his end on that day. We talked about our personal relationship with Jesus not our religion. It was at that point we both quoted John 14:6. We parted with her renewed desire to share the Truth of Jesus Christ: no one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
How will you share the Truth?
Thankful to share the Truth with others,
