Psalm 33:20-22 NIV 2011

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.

In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

This is “a liturgy in praise of the Lord, the Sovereign God of Israel” is what one commentator wrote. It was possibly sung by a Levitical choir. The people responded to the words and waited. Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” They placed their trust in God. Psalm 56:11, “In God I trust and am not afraid.” God’s love is unfailing. Psalm 6:4, “Turn, Lord and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.” Those who trust in the Lord receive His unfailing love.

A person I follow on Twitter re-tweeted verse 21 this morning. I replied back with verse 20 and 22 calling them the bookends that framed his verse. I’m always pleased with the Scripture people post and use it as a signal I can reply in kind. It still makes me smile knowing there are others of faith out there. Waiting is hard but drives me to a closer relationship with God. Trusting has become second nature because of all I receive on a daily basis. God’s unfailing love is visible each day I watch.

How does trusting God reveal His unfailing love for us?

Loved by God,
