Jeremiah 51:15-16a NIV 2011
“He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.”
Jeremiah was God’s prophet to the people of Judah and Jerusalem. These verses echo what he shared in Jeremiah 10:12. “But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.” God’s wisdom is beyond man’s comprehension. Psalm 136:5, “who by his understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever.” God’s power is beyond comprehension. Psalm 136:7, “He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.” Nothing is too hard for God.
Studying 1 Samuel 4-8 this week in BSF, we discovered the Israelites going into battle without seeking the Lord. How often do I race into something without first seeking God’s direction and presence? These verses in Jeremiah drive me back to looking at how God is in the details of my life. He desires to be in the daily details of the lives of His faithful just as He wanted to be with the Israelites. Digging deeper into God’s Word reveals His power, wisdom, strength and love. Nothing is too hard for God.
Where is God’s power and wisdom visible?
