Psalm 25:4-6 NIV 2011
Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love for they are from of old.
This is the first of nine Psalms containing David’s petitions while acknowledging God’s grace and mercy. Coupled with his pleas David consistently revealed his unfailing love and trust in the Lord. By trusting God he was able to ask for His guidance just as Job did. Job 34:32, “Teach me what I cannot see, if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.” Because God’s way is perfect, David asked for guidance. Psalm 31:3, “Since you are my rock, and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.” Grace and mercy come through trusting God.
Arising early this morning, we were at the airport 90 minutes before our departure. After being unable to fly yesterday, as I walked to the kitchen a prayer was on my lips for God’s direction today. Though I know He guides me daily, I’m always a bit more mindful on days we travel. Reflecting on all the times His mercy is revealed as we get the last few seats, I see Him direct my path. How do others navigate without Him? Trusting Jesus I receive His grace and mercy.
How does trusting God change us?
