Genesis 2:23-24 NIV 2011
The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
God knew after creating Adam, Adam needed a partner. Genesis 2:20b, “But for Adam no suitable helper was found.” God made a woman from Adam’s rib. 1 Corinthians 11:8, “For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.” Created a woman for Adam being the key to forming a family unit with children. Ephesians 5:31, “For this reason a man leaves his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh.” God planned men and women to be united which is God’s foundation for families.
The arrival of our first daughter made us three a family. Our family grew as my husband and I continued to love each other. It changed with the marriage of our daughters when their own children arrived. We both had parents that were married more than fifty years. Remembering that I am a partner and helper for my husband has consistently been in the back of my mind. God places a high priority on families and especially marriages. Loving my husband daily through it all unites us and is the foundation for our family.
What cements your marriage relationship?
Thanking God for families,
