Hebrews 2:17-18 NIV 2011
For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of his people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Jesus is the High Priest who alone was in the presence of God before he came to earth. As the High Priest, He took God’s wrath upon Himself at the cross for every sinner. He died as a substitute for all who believe in Him. Paul stated Jesus came as a man that came to serve. Philippians 2:7 “rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant.” Coming as a servant, Jesus is God’s flawless sacrifice sent to save sinners.
Being a wife and mother has been my opportunity to serve at home. Through the years I’ve served in my church and BSF. I followed the example of my mother. Her sacrificial love was evident in how she cared for us. Loving our girls and now our grandchildren is a small taste of how much God loves us. He loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus as our sin sacrifice. Daily I’m thankful Jesus, God’s flawless Son was sent to save all sinners just like me.
How will we thank Jesus today?
Jesus saved us all,
