Ezra 7:27-28a NIV 2011
Praise be to the Lord, the God of our ancestors, who has put it into the king’s heart to bring honor to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem in this way and who has extended his good favor to me before the king and his advisers and all the king’s powerful officials.
Ezra along with the priests and Levites was decreed to return to Jerusalem by Artaxerxes, king of Persia. Ezra 7:1-26 further explains this event. Upon reading the king’s decree, Ezra, God’s faithful priest’s prayer continued in Ezra 7:28b, “Because the hand of the Lord my God was on me, I took courage and gathered leaders from Israel to go up with me.” Ezra 7:6, “He was a teacher well versed in the Law of Moses.” After living in exile, God used this king and Ezra to restore His people to their covenant land once again. God is our true and faithful Scribe.
God continues to anoint men and women to share His Word with those who do not know Him. Pastors shepherd their flocks, preach God’s Truth and God called them all. I’ve had more than ten Teaching Leaders in BSF and God called each one. Ezra did what God called him to do. I’ve learned over the years, when God calls me, I need to answer “yes!” He equips me for that call because daily He’s my true and faithful Scribe.
Who needs to know God’s Truth?
