Psalm 97:1, Isaiah 52:7 NIV 2011
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad, let the distant shores rejoice.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “your God reigns!”
The Lord God reigns in majesty over all the earth from sea to shining sea. Psalm 93:1a, “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty.” Psalm 99b, “He sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.” The psalter painted a picture of those who ran from town to town bringing good news to the people and their king. Those were the same feet of those who knew Jesus and shared the Good News. Romans 10:16, “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent.” God reigns in the lives of those who declare Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
After two surgeries on my left foot, I’ve never thought of my feet as beautiful. Stuffing my large feet into my older sister’s shoes so I could wear cute shoes could be part of the problem. Isaiah’s words about the feet of those that bring Good News have always been favorites of mine. In order to share God’s Word, we need to move and that involves our feet. My trusty tennis took me past a neighbor this morning in need of prayer. God does reign in my life daily.
Where’s God leading your feet today?
Thankful our God reigns,
