1 Corinthians 13:1-2 NIV 2011
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
This was Paul’s love gift to the church at Corinth. He recognized the abilities some of the faithful did posses to speak in various languages. But if it was used without the love of Christ, it was useless. There could be others with vast knowledge and other gifts but when used for personal gain rather than furthering the cause of Christ in love, nothing was gained. God’s love shines above all else in the lives of His Servants.
Looking at the incredibly diverse gifts God gives each of us causes my love for Him to grow daily. Using the gifts He has given me allows me the opportunity to share His love gift with others. He loved us first not because we first loved Him. God’s love gift to us, John 3:16 KJV, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Being His Servant it is my joy to shine His love to others.
How do others see us shine His love?
Shining God’s love together each day,
