Matthew 10:29, Ephesians 1:11 NIV 2011
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.
Jesus equipped the disciples to proclaim the Good News to the Jews. His words were reminders for them. Luke’s reference is similar. Luke 12:6, “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” God was with them. Paul, having met Jesus on Damascus’ road, had words of encouragement for the Gentiles. God knew them before they were born. He knew who would respond to His call. Romans 8:29, “For those God foreknew he also predestined…” God knows and controls everything even the smallest details.
As a detail oriented person, having things in order helps me live my life. When things are out of place, I can get a little crazy. The same is true now when I’m not in control of my life. It takes me back to the slower, kinder, gentler days growing up. We didn’t know how our family, friends or neighbors voted. We knew we were in this together. Reading God’s Word is the key for me. Remaining close to Him keeps my organized. He knows and controls everything even my need for order.
How will we release everything to Him?
