Psalm 103:11-12, 22b NIV 2011
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
This psalm of David began and ended with praise to the Lord. David knew personally the greatness of God’s love for His faithful. Psalm 13:5, “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” Psalm 36:5, “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” David walked obediently with God showing his son Solomon how to do the same. 2 Chronicles 6:31, “so that they will fear you and walk in obedience to you all the time they live in the land you gave our ancestors.” God loves and forgives sinners that revere Him.
Lamentation 3:22, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.” The perfect Scripture to put above my desk as I type. God’s love is greater than any love we have to give. I know raising children we love them unconditionally. And the same is true for our grands. But it’s humbling to know it pales in comparison to the love God has for us. He merely asks us to follow Christ. Daily I’m surrounded by God lovingly forgiving me because I’m His.
Where have we seen God’s love today?
His loved forgiven sinners,
