Habakkuk 3:19a, Zephaniah 3:20b NIV 2011
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
“I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” says the Lord.
Both Habakkuk and Zephaniah were God’s prophets sent to the people of Judah. Though Habakkuk’s book contains his argument with the Lord he finally realized God was mercifully in control. His book ends with his confession of faith and renewal of joy filled trust in Him once again. Zephaniah’s three chapters contain Judah’s judgment based on their worship of idols. Zephaniah 1:4, “I will stretch out my hand against Judah.” He does not fail to point out God will be merciful to Judah in 3:13b, “The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm.” God brings Revival.
There were some dark days in my life when I was angry and far away from God. And like the Jews during their exile, God did not desert me nor was He ever far away. He waited for my heart to change when I returned to Him by repenting and asking for His forgiveness. Daily He offers revival to all who come to Him. He always knows where we are and waits for His people return. God brings Revival to His people.
