Psalm 14:2-3NIV 2011

The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who see God.

All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

David knew people didn’t fear the Lord. Psalm 36:1, “I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.” David was aware God could see everything. He also understood there were many who did not believe. Psalm 92:6, “Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand.” Sinful corrupt behavior surrounded him making him painfully aware of those who’d made poor choices. Paul wrote to the Romans using similar words. Romans 3:10, 12a “There is no one righteous not even one. All have turned away.” Separation from God comes through sin.

I used to use a sliding scale to see how I measured up with others. When I finally realized it didn’t matter where I landed, my life took a hard right turn toward the Lord. My sinful behavior was the problem and He was the solution. Oh, I’d learned at a young age who I needed to follow. Somewhere between then and my late twenties He showed me His Truth, I can’t measure up. Jesus died on the cross for my sins. He saved me and ended my separation from God.

What behaviors separate us from God?

Saved from separation daily,
