Judges 16:28, 30b NIV 2011
Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with on blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.”
Then he pushed with all his might and down came the temple…
Samson was born to rescue Israel. Judges 13:5b, “He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.” He was dedicated to the Lord and to fight the Philistines. An imperfect man, loving the wrong woman led to him being captured by the Philistines. His strength gone, the Philistines celebrated and praised their god. Standing between two temple pillars, he prayed for God to hear his prayer as he’d done before. Judges 15:18, “Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord.” The temple collapsed killing many Philistines. God uses imperfect servants for His kingdom.
Knowing God’s Word, I understand God uses many flawed individuals to advance His kingdom. From Genesis to Revelation, God used those with varying backgrounds for His good purposes and the same is true today. He chose me to write daily. Unprepared and unaware of His decision, He called and I answered after much prayer. He gives me strength in my weakness. Like Samson, sometimes what I write is not what I think is up to His standard. Ultimately, I know God uses imperfect servants for His kingdom.
How is God using you for His kingdom today?
