Matthew 26:31-32 NIV 2011
Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.’”
Jesus called each of the twelve disciples to leave everything and follow Him. He forever changed their lives. They followed Jesus and returned with Him to Jerusalem. Jesus knew their lives would change as He walked to Calvary. The Gospels revealed how each disciple fell away. Matthew 26:56b, “Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.” Jesus returned changing the disciples lives again. Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” When life changes, God is good.
God’s call changed Abraham’s life. Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” Holy God knows everything and when He calls I need to obey. Change can be hard but it has always been good for me. Like Abraham I’ve learned that His ways are much higher than mine. He has a purpose daily for my life. God is good even when life changes.
What good change is God making in our lives?
