2 Timothy 2:14-15 NIV 2011
Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth
Paul’s words to Timothy implored him to stand firm in preaching by persevering through it all. Steer clear of rabbit trails. 2 Timothy 2:23, “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.” Faith is built on Christ alone; never be ashamed of that. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…” Those entrusted with the Truth are called to be fiercely faithful.
I remember driving to church on Wednesday nights to choir practice and Awana for our youngest daughter. She would recite her Bible verse for the week. We both memorized Romans 1:16. Keeping God’s Word hidden in our hearts reminds me who He is and how He’s working in my daily life. Just like Timothy, I will to continue to share the Truth with those that don’t know it and never be ashamed of whom I am in Christ. I know God’s Truth because I’m called to be fiercely faithful.
Do others find us fiercely faithful Christians?
God’s Truth binds us all together,
