Exodus 20:2-3 Deuteronomy 5:6 NIV 2011
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”
God spoke and gave Moses the Ten Commandments during Moses’ time at Mt. Sinai. God then reminded the Israelites who He is and what He expected from them. Isaiah 43:3, “For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” Moses gathered Israel to hear the Ten Commandments God gave them at Mt. Sinai. He began by reminding them who God is and how God was with them during their journey to the Promised Land. The commandments were God’s guiding words for His people to worship and live godly lives. God is the One True God.
How do we know we’re following God’s Word? I have to quote Pastor Ken from my church in New Albany. “According to Scripture, having a conscience is a gift from God, designed to guide us in making moral judgments by the power of the Holy Spirit.” We’re given God’s Word, which shows us how to worship Him and live a godly daily life. The Holy Spirit is my guide helping me with godly decisions. Jesus saved me to serve God. My God is the One True God.
