Galatians 6:7-8 NIV 2011
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Paul wrote to the Ephesians because the Judaizers’ taught Christ plus legalism. 1 Corinthians 16:33, “Do not be misled. ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” Believers are saved through faith in Christ alone. Galatians 2:24, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Paul reminded them as he did the Romans to live by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:13, “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” The Spirit guides believers whose faith is placed in Christ alone.
Paul’s way of getting right to the point has always impressed me. After meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus, his life was forever changed. Looking back on my life, giving my life to Christ changed the direction of my life. There were years of running from my faith, but the Holy Spirit was at work gently guiding me back. Since that time I know the Holy Spirit is working in my life keeping me on the right track. The Spirit guides me daily because I belong to Christ.
How is the Spirit guiding you?
