Mark 11:22, 24, James 1:6a, 5:15 NIV 2011
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt…
And the prayer offered in faith, will make the sick person well.
Jesus spoke God’s Truth to the people, chief priests and teachers of the law as well His disciples. In Matthew 17:20 He told the crowd that faith is found in the prayers of God’s people who ask, seek and knock, Matthew 7:7. James’ letter to the Jerusalem believers echoed Christ’s words in Mark 11:24, don’t doubt, believe. Faith is a gift given by God. Ephesians 2:28, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” God’s gift of faith is one human element of believer’s prayer.
Walking by faith, many storied Christians have led the way for we who have come after them. Whether it was Moses, David or Paul, they all chose to follow God wherever He led them. I’ve walked with Jesus for most of my adult life. That walk has grounded my faith helping me to face what ever comes my way. I am the woman of God I am today because of those events. Praying in faith, I’ve seen God daily answer prayer.
How does faith aid the prayers of believers?
