Luke 9:3, 47, 48b  NIV 2011

He told them, “Take nothing for your journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.”

Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him.

“For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”

Jesus commissioned His disciples. Luke 9:1, “When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”

Herod was aware of Jesus’. The disciples returned as a crowd of five thousand gathered. The crowd were fed with five loaves of bread and two fish after Jesus spoke. Three people asked to follow Christ but weren’t willing to leave everything. The cost to follow Christ is complete surrender to Him.

When the wheels come off my bus, I must remember who is Lord of my life. When I’m bumping along with not a care in the world, I need to remember Jesus is Lord of my life. Being willing to share what He’s done in my life can be difficult with those that know nothing of who Jesus is. The older I get, the bolder I get. Sometimes He just leads me into a conversation to share The Truth. Daily I will surrender to Christ because that’s the price to follow HIm.

How will we share Christ today?

Surrendered to Chirst together,
