2 Corinthians 8:9, 9:15 NIV 2011

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Paul knew what his salvation meant. After meeting Christ on the road to Damascus, his life was forever changed. He preached Christ and the cross to the lost Gentiles he was saved to serve. His letters were full of encouraging words to each mission field: keep the faith. The indescribable gift was given by God: His Son. The Apostle John’s letters contain the same message. 1 John 4:9, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” God’s Son Jesus Christ, the sacrificial Lamb, is God’s indescribable gift.

As this year draws to a close, I’m thankful I’m a child of God. Nothing that has happened that is unknown to man. I look at what has happened as a wake up call for each of us who follow Jesus Christ. We were never promised an easy life. God’s Word shows the trials and tribulations that His people experienced before and after the cross of Christ. Why should ours be any different? I’m humbled that God sent Jesus to save us. Thankfully celebrating God’s indescribable gift Jesus Christ, our Savior daily.

How will we show God’s gift?

Saved and secure together,

S
