Psalm 143:1 1 John 1:9 NIV 2011
Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
God’s Word is reliable and true. David prayed to the Lord because he knew God heard his prayers. Psalm 141:1, “I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you.” Many of his psalms reflected his complete reliance and faith in God. God listens and will act according to His divine nature. Zechariah 8:8, “I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be their God.” Psalm 33:4, “The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.” God’s response is everlastingly faithful and just.
I’ve learned over the years when making a date to meet at a specific time, not everyone is as dependable as I was raised to be. Some have promised to be there in times of need but don’t show up. Others walk away from the friendship without any reason. The only One I’m eternally able to depend upon is the Lord. Like David, I can turn to Him whenever I’m in need. The Lord responds when I pray because He is everlastingly faithful and just.
Looking at friends, who’s the most dependable?
God is faithful and just daily,
