Acts 16:30-31, Ephesians 2:8 NIV 2011
He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…
In prison, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. A violent earthquake shook the foundation of their prison. Afraid and fearful of retribution, the jailer asked Paul and Silas how to be saved. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God’s grace is His unmerited favor, the free gift for all who believe in Jesus Christ atoning death on the cross. Belief in the Lord Jesus saves sinners.
What prisons surround us daily? Jesus died to set us free from sin’s prison. Believing in Him sets us free. A dear sister-in-Christ just sent me a message about her unsaved sister-in-law with maybe seventy-two hours left in her life. She received this text from her daughter: “I said to her, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved’ and she shook her head yes.” Even as life is ebbing away, it’s never too late to accept Christ as Lord and Savior of our life.
How will we share Jesus saves with unbelievers?
