Luke 24:5-7 NIV 2011
In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised.’”
After Jesus’ crucifixion, the women were ready to prepare his body but found the stone rolled away. Jesus was not there. “Two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning” greeted them. They reminded the women of Jesus’ words spoken in Galilee. Luke 9:22, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected…and on the third day be raised to life.” Overcoming Satan’s strategy to destroy God’s people, Jesus arose the victor from the grave.
Sometimes we don’t see the forest for the trees. When something is right in front of me, periodically I completely miss it. Not wanting any to perish, Jesus walked to the cross for all who choose to follow Him. The enemy would rather we believe his lies than the truth found in God’s Word. Spending time in His Word daily helps me see those trees and what’s right in front of me even when they’re obscured by Satan’s lies. Jesus gives me victor over Satan.
Where is He leading us to victory today?
Sharing in His victory,
