John 3:3, 5-6 NIV 2011
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.”
Pharisees questioned Jesus continually. Nicodemus, a Pharisee, came to Jesus at night fearful because he wanted to have a private conversation with Him. Jesus bluntly laid out the Truth. Nicodemus’ confusion regarding “born again” asked how anyone could reenter the womb to be born again. The Greek word again also means from above. Jesus answered Nicodemus by changing the verbiage and expanding upon the outward experience with an internal heart change based on faith in the Lord. To enter the kingdom of God, you must be born again.
A conversation with my husband last night resulted in him sharing a dire revelation from his friend. He was told cancer would take his life within eighteen months. My first thought was wondering if he was a believer. Waiting a few minutes I finally asked, “Does he know the Lord?” My sweetie assured me he did and we continued to talk about ways he could walk beside him with the time he has left. God’s Word daily assures me where I’m going giving me peace. I’ll see Jesus when I’m “home.”
Who needs to meet Jesus today?
Born again believers,
