Romans 10:11-13 NIV 2011
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Paul shared the Gospel during the time Nero was emperor of Rome. It was a time of self-thought as well as pleasing ones self. Paul’s letter to the church at Rome was God’s Truth; salvation through Jesus Christ is available to all who chose to follow Him. His message was clear to both Jew and Gentile, follow Jesus and be saved. Paul quoted Joel 2:23 stating the Lord remains the same. Paul called the faithful to share the Good News with others around them by leading them to Christ. Saved sinners’ sharing the Truth offers salvation to others.
Like the church in Paul’s day, we are not called to march against something. Rather than rail against the cause “de jour,” we are called to share the Good News that is found in Jesus Christ. We need to build the church through lives changed by Christ. Building a solid foundation in God’s Word, the family/church will once again become a unit bound by faith. A solid basis built on Jesus Christ will change the substance of our nation. Sharing God’s Word daily strengthens our foundation.
Where is God’s Word needed today?
Saved sinners sharing Jesus,
