Leviticus 26:12-13 NIV 2011
“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. I am the Lord your God, who brought out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.”
Moses recorded God’s words at Mount Sinai’s base. He gave Israel instructions how to live as God’s holy people: worship God. In this chapter God showed how He would reward His obedient people. Leviticus 26:11, “I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you.” God dwelling with them allowed them to worship any time. Reminding the children of Israel all He had done reinforced His Covenant with them. Hebrews 8:10, “This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time.” God invites everyone into a Covenant relationship with Him.
The God of the Old Testament and the New are one in the same. I love God’s True Word. It’s the perfect instruction book for anyone who chooses to follow His Way. We never know from one day to the next what will happen. What we do know is He will be with us as we daily choose to follow Him. My problem lies in deciding to rest in Him. Thankfully He invited me into a Covenant relationship with Him.
Where is He leading us to share today?
Thankful He is Lord God,
