Philippians 4:6-7 NIV 2011
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, presents your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Paul ended his letter to the faithful in Philippi with God’s peace. He wrote to those who were anxious which resulted in being a bit self-absorbed. Their desire to share the gospel message had waned. He contrasted anxiety with prayer, which are polar opposites in the lives of Believers. The remedy to worry is thanksgiving through prayer. The inner peace that followed that realization resulted in serenity because their sins had been forgiven. Psalm 55:22 is similar to 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” The full depth of God’s love and care are beyond comprehension for non-believers.
There was little time for anxiety in a family of eight. I wasn’t worried about anything. My mother and father loved me unconditionally. Choosing to follow Jesus Christ was an easy decision for me. Even during those times when I chose to do things my own way, I can see Jesus was always there. Sharing God’s Word is what all Believers are called to do as Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20. Following Jesus I’ve seen God’s love and care is incomprehensible.
How will we share God’s love and care with those who do not know Him?
Sharing Jesus’ love daily,
