Psalm 37:5, Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV 2011

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

David knew God was trustworthy. Psalm 4:5, “Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord.” Psalm 31:6b, ” as for me, I trust in the Lord.” David knew his ancestors trusted the Lord. David challenged Solomon to serve the Lord and trust Him. 1 Chronicles 28:9a, “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion.” Solomon trusted the Lord and submitted to Him as His faithful servant. Submitting to the Lord, Solomon trusted Him to direct his path. The Lord directs the path of those who trust Him.

There have been days when I place my head in my hands and think, “I just can’t figure this out.” Then my hands slip from my head and I begin to pray knowing even though I can’t figure it out, I know He can. It’s humbling and makes me realize how far short I fall on a daily basis. It’s also freeing to know I don’t have to have it all together because He does. I will fearlessly trust Him and faithfully listen for His directions toward His perfect path.

What do you need to figure out today?

Awaiting His directions,
