Jeremiah 23:24, Matthew 28:20, Psalm 139:7 NIV 2011
“Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.
“and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
Jeremiah quoted the Lord’s words to the people of Judah and Jerusalem predicting exile followed by restoration. He reminded them the Lord God was always present in their lives. Matthew quoted Jesus with much the same message. He was God in the flesh Matthew 1:23, “God with us.” David’s Psalm stated the Holy Spirit was always with him because David was always in His presence. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are each present in the lives of believers.
In March many wear green to celebrate St. Patrick Day. Legend credits Patrick with using the shamrocks three leaves to explain Christian’s belief in the Trinity to the people of Ireland. Contemporary leaders have used ice, water and steam as another illustration of the Trinity, three forms of water. Neither illustration is perfect. The three Scriptures above each validate the same divine characteristics of all three. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all three God present in a believer’s daily life.
Where is each visibly at work in my life today?
