Ephesians 5:20, Philippians 4:6 NIV 2011
Do not be anxious about anything but in every situtation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul encouraged God’s faithful through his letters to be thankful for all the Lord was doing in their lives. Paul left a much easier life behind after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus. Paul was persecuted and pillaried at every turn. And yet he was able to daily thank God for the mission God called him to complete. Colossians 2:7, “rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Thanksgiving is a command woven throughout the New Testament.
We decided to check two bags. Delayed arrival but only two gates from next flight and 40 minutes to transfer. I sat in the window seat watching the bags being loaded, I noticed our bags were not among them. I knew another tug should arrive with transfer bags. Our next flight was finished boarding as the ramp agents closed the baggage hold. A tug arrived with transfer bags. Ours were buried but found, unloaded and a ramp agent walked them to the other side. I gave God thanks they made the flight.
What ways do we give thanks to God?
Giving thanks daily to God together,
