Leviticus 7:7-8 NIV 2011
“The same law applies to both the sin offering, and the guilt offering: They belong to the priest who makes atonement with them. The priest who offers a burnt offering for anyone may keep its hide for himself.
Moses recorded God’s Words spoken at the base of Mount Sinai. Given to the Israelites, they were His instructions regarding living as God’s holy people. God’s people were sinful by nature and He gave them a way to remain in fellowship with Him by offering a sacrifice for their sin. Aaron was the first priest chosen by God. Aaron and his sons acted as mediators between man and God. Jesus Christ atoned for sin at the cross. He is the mediator. Hebrews 4:16, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” God is our High Priest.
A personal relationship with Jesus is what I’ve had for more years than I have not. Because of my sinful nature, I need His sacrificial blood to cover me. God then sees me through the blood of Jesus Christ. I do not need to go through anyone. I’m able to approach God daily. He hears my prayer. My move to obediently serve may lead to obstacles but the hard is temporary with Christ. I have the Savior and God is my High Priest.
How do you approach our High Priest?
