Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 4 NIV 2011

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…

Some think the world is topsy-turvy or illogical but God’s people know He ordered it. The words of my favorite commentator are spot on. “God has ordered all things and a human being cannot change God’s appointments or fully understand them or anticipate them.” Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end.” Farmers understand planting seasons while others understand timing is everything. Psalm 31:15a, “My times are in your hands.” God is our Time and Season.

By living with the premise that God has ordered the world, I find it much easier to rest in His direction. Vividly experiencing the hand of God in my daily life offers context to what is going on in my life. I understand there are season of our lives and each one is unique. The key for me is to focus on His timing and let the rest sort itself out. He is my time and season.

How does my life reflect God’s time and season?

Ordered and anchored together,
