Romans 7:25a, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Philippians 4:13 NIV 2011
Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
God would rescue him was Paul’s answer to the question he asked in the previous verse. Romans 7:24 “Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?” How? He was rescued through Jesus sacrificial death on the cross. Paul continually thanked God. 2 Corinthians 2:14, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession.” Faith in Jesus Christ gave Paul victory. Romans 8:37, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Paul overcame all obstacles with Christ’s strength. Victory is found through faith in Jesus Christ.
The dictionary definition of victim holds a myriad of results. The news is ripe with leads about someone being a victim. Paul made a choice on the road to Damascus to follow Jesus after persecuting Christians. At some point in my life, I understood being a victim is a choice. The more I lean into the Lord, the less likely I will ever be a victim. With a keen awareness of my surroundings, I’m armed daily with God’s Word. I found victory when I placed my faith in Jesus Christ.
What’s your story of victory in Christ?
Thanks be to God,
