Ephesians 1:12-14 NIV 2011
…in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus contains his short but sweet summary of the gospel of salvation by the grace of God through faith alone. He began by making the reference to Jews like himself who became believers. The Gentile believers in Ephesus were sealed and secure in their salvation. The gift of the Holy Spirit seals the deal for believers. Those redeemed by Christ are seen blameless in God’s sight.
The gift of redemption Christ gave to me when He selflessly gave His life as my sin sacrifice still astounds me. God loved the world so much that He provided a way for each of us to have fellowship with Him forever. The same salvation offered to the early church is offered today. Everyone has that same opportunity daily to have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus. By faith in Christ, every believer is seen blameless in God’s sight.
How does God see us today?
Thankfully redeemed by Christ and blameless before God,
