Titus 1:2, 3:6-7 NIV 2011
In the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.
Whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having hope of eternal life.
Paul reminded Titus just as he did Timothy of the hope believers received at the cross. 2 Timothy 1:1, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in keeping with the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus.” God made a promise to His faithful. Hebrews 6:18, “It is impossible for God to lie.” He extended grace. 2 Timothy 1:9, “This grace was given in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” Jesus Christ justifies and redeems sinners, giving each one hope. Believers have hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Daily I’m aware of the amazing grace God gives me. I see Him in the world that surrounds me when I walk the streets where we live. When I’m visiting in Preston, the beauty of the Cascade foothills never ceases to bring a smile to my face. The majestic sunrise across the valley of Las Vegas is stunning. Each reveals how awesome God’s creation really is. His promise is revealed in the beauty of the earth. And Jesus is His promised redeemer. I have hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Why does hope of eternal life change us?
