Psalm 68:19-20, 81:6 NIV 2011
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.
“I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket.”
The second half of David’s Psalm is his hopeful declaration; God will be victorious when His people return to Him. By moving the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, God would redeem His people. The people didn’t need to be slaves to God’s enemies because the Lord would save them. Psalm 56:13, “For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.” The same God that heard their cries delivered them from Pharaoh in Egypt. God called them to be faithful. God hears and delivers His people who are faithful.
Just when you think you have the world by the tail, God allows you to be brought to your knees and allows you lean into Him. Unable “to be all that I can be” continues to be a short coming of mine. God graciously shows me over and over again how I need to lean into Him on a daily basis. He doesn’t want me to be an island unto myself. I was created to have a relationship with Him. He hears and delivers His faithful.
Where’s God working in our lives today?
He hears and delivers,
