2 Peter 3:14-15 NIV 2011

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with wisdom that God gave him.

Verse 14 is comparable to Peter’s first description of Christ’s sacrifice. 1 Peter 1:19, “but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” Those at peace with him were those who believed in His finished work on the cross. Jesus patiently waits for repentance. 2 Peter 3:9, “Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”  Peter’s letter affirmed Paul’s words. Romans 5:1, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Believers are justified through faith in Christ.

Studying God’s Word, wisdom is found when we choose to dwell there. God’s not willing that any should perish but would rather all come to salvation. That’s comforting as I’m privileged to share His Word daily. Sometimes the path we’ve chosen changes on a dime. That doesn’t mean it is wrong but rather He had a better path chosen for us. Staying faithful to Jesus is the right mind-set to remain faithfully focused. God is patient with us. We are justified through faith in Jesus Christ.

How do we share we’re justified through faith?

Christ’s chosen,

S
