Psalm 48:14, Isaiah 57:18 NIV 2011

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners.

The Psalter described God in 48:1, “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.” The shepherd leads his flock just as God, the great Shepherd-King, does the same. Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Guided by God, the walk of each believer leads to righteousness. Psalm 23:3, “he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Israel turned from God, and yet He restored and healed His people. When taken into captivity, God brought them back after they chose to turn back to Him. God guides and restores those that remain faithfully His.

Living in Las Vegas, at most intersections drivers are allowed to make a U-turn. I smile when I see the sign and think, that’s what being a Christian is all about. I need to immediately make a U-turn when I’m headed away from the Lord. He’s blessed me with friends and family that caution me when I’m headed in the wrong direction. God wants me to remain in His Word daily for direction and course correction. He is the Shepherd of my life. He guides and restores when I’m faithful.

What U-turn needs to be made?

God’s guided and restored,

S
