Psalm 1:6, 121:5-6 NIV 2011
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Psalms are filled with encouragement and hope for God’s people. The first Psalm reveals the two paths man will take: those who choose to follow the Lord and those that don’t. Psalm 145:20, “The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.” God’s unfailing protection will always be with those that trust Him. God provides for His people. Isaiah 49:10a, “They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them.” The Lord provides and protects His people.
I think of these Psalms as a precursor to Romans 8:31-39. Nothing will ever separate us from God because He watches over us. From pandemic to riot’s in the streets where you live, no matter how bad things will get, He remains with us.The Lord God was with Israel, He was with the early church and He is with us today. I need to reflect His presence in my life. He wants me to tell His Story and share how He provides and protects me daily.
How do we reflect the Hope that’s found in Jesus Christ?
Blessed beyond all measure,
