Isaiah 26:3-4 NIV 2011
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
Isaiah began this passage as a song of praise for God’s deliverance similar to verses in Isaiah 25. Reference to “minds are steadfast because they trust in you” is similar to Isaiah’s other words. Isaiah 30:15, “in quietness and trust is your strength.” Psalm 112 offers a eulogy to a godly man with words akin to Isaiah’s, “never shaken, no fear, heart steadfast, trusting in the Lord, heart secure, look in triumph.” Verse four gives the final charge to “trust in the Lord forever.” Trust in God is the Rock upon which all believers should securely stand.
At church we’re currently on chapter 4 in John. Jesus talked with a Samaritan woman. The Great Soul Winner was Sunday’s message. God’s love is unending and visible in all Jesus said and did. “We need to warn people of what eternity without Jesus is like.” Pastor then asked, “Why do you believe in Christianity?” I know why I do, but can I articulate that to others? He said we need to have a coffee, dinner, Gospel approach. Have a conversation, get to know them, then share Jesus. I’m securely standing on the Rock with steadfast trust in Him.
Who needs to know Jesus saves while we steadfastly trust in Him?
Standing on the Rock daily together,
