Psalm 141:1-2 NIV 2011

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me; hear me when I call you. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

This is one of the last eight psalms of David. David prayed for the Lord to come quickly and deliver him. Psalm 22:19, “But you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength, come quickly to help me.” He asked God to hear him. Psalm 5:1, “Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament.” Offering his prayer, David knew the Lord accepted his prayer request. In the desert David lifted his hands in praise as his sacrifice. Psalm 63:5, “I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.” God hears and answers saved sinners prayer requests.

Today I received an SOS text from a sweet eternal sister. In need of prayer, I stopped what I was doing and immediately responded. I prayed and included a favorite Scripture of mine, Isaiah 40:3. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow wear, they will walk and not be faint.” I’ve received God’s peace after reading this more times than I can count. God hears and answers my prayer requests daily.

How do you cry out to the Lord?

God hears our prayers,
