2 Chronicles 16:9a, Job 24:23, Psalm 33:13 NIV 2011
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but his eyes are on their ways.
From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind.
Ezra was possibly the author of the two books of Chronicles. His writings focused on historical events during the times of the kings. Israel had a sin problem and it was rooted eyes taken off the Lord. Their hearts were turned away from God who consistently cared for them. Job knew the Lord and was aware of His watchful eye. Others would prosper but the Lord saw and knew their heart. Amos 6:1a, “Woe to you who are complacent in Zion.” God sees everything. Hebrews 4:13, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.” The eyes of the Lord are everywhere.
I felt a bit invisible as I counted plastic grocery bags this morning. Not my finest moment. God quickly revealed what I was doing mattered and He saw precisely what I was doing. A smile on my lips, I continued to count each of those bags to see which VBS group brought in the most. Only having enough time to count four and another count one, the final one would be counted later. God really does have eyes everywhere.
How have you experienced God’s eyes upon you?
God sees us daily,
