Psalm 23:4, Isaiah 43:2a NIV 2011

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you…”

David’s trust and faith in the Lord was grounded in personal experiences with Him. And that is how he began Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Even during the scariest moments in his life, He knew God was with him. Psalm 16:8, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” The Lord remained with the Israelites as they crossed the Red Sea. Psalm 66:6, “He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot—come let us rejoice in him.” When life is scary, God is good.

Vacation Bible School day 2’s theme, “When life is scary, God is good!” What’s been amazing since it’s start is observing His goodness in the entire staff as we share God’s love with the children. From the opening songs and throughout the morning, He continually stretches and strengthens each of us serving. Checking off each child as we snapped pictures for Friday’s framed photo God was good. Smiles on parent’s faces as they walked with their kiddos out the door revealed God is good today as every day.

How have you experienced God is good today?

Rejoicing in His goodness,
