Jeremiah 33:1-3 NIV 2011
While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time: “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”
Jeremiah was a prophet called by God, Jeremiah 1:2, during the reigns of the last five kings of Judah. Called to bring them words of God’s judgment on Judah, Jeremiah also brought them hope in God’s promises of restoration in chapters 30-33. Still under house arrest, the Lord met him right where he was. When the people call to God in prayer, He will respond. Isaiah 48:6a, “You have heard these things; look at them all.” After judgment comes unbelievable restoration of God’s repentant people.
I spent the morning having some imaging done north of us. Shocked by the snow on the ground, I knew the roads would be clear and no need to worry. During each test, I prayed God’s hand would be with me and that together we would move onward with whatever the results were. The radiologist reported everything looked good. I was restored and need to return in six months to check again. Repenting of my sins each night brings immediate restoration when that’s my daily choice.
Where have we seen His restoration today?
Repentant and restored,
